The Big Puddle is guided by parents, service providers, and advocates who understand the challenges vulnerable populations face firsthand. Our board and committee leaders bring decades of combined experience in disability services, behavioral health, law, and community advocacy.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
MARIA DUERSON - Founder, President & Treasurer
Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician, mother of two (including a nonverbal autistic son), and founder of Umbrella Functional Consulting & Support Team. Maria created the Bucks County Parent Group for Autism Support and has partnered with community organizations including Feed the Need, West Chester University's Center for Civic Engagement & Social Impact, and Bucks County Housing Group.
CHRISTEN HARTZ - Board Member
Adult disability services professional and aunt to a child with autism. Advocates for changing "no" to "yes" for people with unmet needs. Has advocated for autism and disabilities for nearly ten years through supporting philanthropic efforts and providing awareness to community organizations.
BRIAN PORCELLI, MSW - Board Member
Behavior Specialist in adult disability services with expertise in counseling, behavioral support, and music therapy. Formerly worked in Supports Coordination and presently provides Behavior Specialist services to adults with disabilities using evidence-based practices. Actively involved in philanthropic efforts across southeastern Pennsylvania.
MARY ARTIGAS, JD - Board Member
Mother to a child with autism, founder of Ausome Kids and Family Home Care (home health services), and passionate supporter of the Eagles Autism Challenge. Brings deep understanding of provider, parent, and individual perspectives to board decisions.
